This is a very diffrent model from past V7 keyboards, This is my third V7 Keyboard and its not he best, I owned two previously and I have always loved the keyboard, first one lasted two years till a spillage destroyed it, the last one lasted 6 years still it just wore out. I saw I could buy it for a third time and for such a great price. Sadly I now know why its so cheap now, it is not the same keyboard and also not the one advertised.
Most features are the same however the overall build quality is alot less. What was once metal covered space bars, WASD and arrow keys is now just matte plastic. The Cyborg logo in the center for switching between Game mode and normal mode is a MadCatz logo that is not at all a big deal yet it tells me how diffrent this modern version is made versus one advertised and past models. I have been using the keyboard and the keys are far more spongy they. I have my broken old one here and despite 6 years of almost constant use it has a pseudo mechanical keyboard press to the keys. This is not feeling the feeling the same.
For £30 it is an amazing keyboard still yet, I wanted the model I used to pay £80 for. The price is worth it yet I very much dislike Madcatz lower quality without calling it somthing else fooling myself into thinking I am getting the same model as of 8 years ago. I can tell I will switch this out for somthing better in future, I used to love Madcatz products yet they have been failing me in recent (Freq 7 headset being one), I am growing out of being a Madcatz fan and growing into being a Razer fan. We shall see.
